Nobody longs for a safe and loving family more than a child in foster care. Volunteer court appointed special advocates (CASA) are empowered by the courts to help make this dream a reality. CASAs are often the one consistent adult in the child’s life, speaking up for them throughout the dependency process and making recommendations as to what is in the child’s best interest.

Office Of the CASA Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge the original inhabitants of this area, the Snohomish people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. Since time immemorial, they have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these lands. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and honor their sacred spiritual connection with the land and water.

We will strive to be honest about our past mistakes and bring about a future that includes their people, stories, and voices to form a more just and equitable society.

In our daily lives, let us honor and respect those who stewarded the land through generations. Snohomish County CASA acknowledges this statement will evolve as we continue to learn the history of the land we occupy. We are in the process of educating ourselves about the atrocities that took place against indigenous peoples on this land.

We would be humbled by your feedback.
